CARRIE DIAZ EATON

Dr. Carrie Diaz Eaton is Associate Professor of Digital and Computational Studies at Bates College and the Consortium Director for QUBES (qubeshub.org). She has a broad interest in mathematical biology, education, networks, and equity and social justice in STEM higher education. Dr. Diaz Eaton is the incoming Chair for the MAA Committee on Minority Participation in Mathematics and a proud SACNAS Leadership Fellow (‘18). She is the current co-Chair of the Education subgroup of the Society for Mathematical Biology on the editorial board for PRIMUS: Problems, Resources, and Issues in Mathematical Undergraduate Studies.

She also is leading a project called Math Mamas, which brings together a group of projects at the intersection of mathematics, motherhood and academia. Dr. Diaz Eaton is also a Project NExT Fellow (‘12), and has served as Program Chair and Electronic Communications Chair for BIO SIGMAA and on the Editorial Board for Letters in Biomathematics.  You can follow her on Twitter at @mathprofcarrie.
